granola and leaves

Crunchy.

Granola spills carelessly
around the motherly form
Stolen sleep
Unaware
of mischievous male youngster
finding himself alone
The only one awake.

Leaves lie on hard pavement
decaying
dehydrating
No longer a verdant vessel
chlorophyll the absent life blood
Find their new home in the canister
of a curious outdoor vacuumer.
