Jesus Lover Of My Soul by Jake and Hannah Sumner
The day was hot. And dry. The dust like powdered sugar. But definitely not as tasty. Ask Ezra about that.
I see my feet covered in dust, begging for water.
I think of the footwashing ceremony: my feet dirty, His hands gentle.
I recognize my need for surrender. I rejoice at His continual act of cleaning.
Father God,
When blogging for recognition, when parenting for the illusive back-pat,
when thinking about my needs, my goals, my future...
let my dirty feet remind me that I am only dust.

Dust breathed into life, by God, for a Purpose.

Remind me why I am here, on this dusty planet.
We're made alive by Him. Blessed by Him. Sustained by Him.
God-breathed pieces of dust.
"For you are dust,
And to dust you shall return.”
Genesis 3:19

it's all about you, Jesus
and all this is for you
for the glory of your name
it's not about me
as if you should do things my way
you alone are God
and I surrender
to your ways
