Birthday Season | May 2025
When I married someone also born in May, I had no idea our two boys would also be born in the same season! The four of us all celebrate birthdays within a five week stretch of time! This year, three of us are turning even numbers (42, 18, 16) and only Tim is odd (47)!!
One of my birthday presents came from my boss -- a promotion to team captain! Now I've got quite a bit more responsibility and a bit of a raise to go along with it. My schedule isn't going to be quite as flexible, but I'm still hoping to be able to travel whenever I can!
For my birthday, I deep cleaned two cars and made my favorite birthday meal -- enchiladas and strawberry shortcake! For Peter's 18th (!!) birthday, we ate absolutely delicious veggie burritos at Casa Durango in Renton (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) and then walked more than 5 miles playing disc golf at the SeaTac 27 hole course. 😳 Tim wanted a bike ride and a walk (and we also played Power Grid with friends). 👌
Ezra will be 16 in just a couple weeks and that should turn out to be a very exciting birthday. 🚘🛩️🎂
We've continued the weekly trips to Kirkland for Peter's classes and my cargo training for work fit in nicely with that schedule. I also got cleared to substitute teach in both our local districts, so I'm hoping to make a little more $$ that way next school year. I worked one day in May, for a music specialist, and got to enjoy Peter and the Wolf with 2nd grade and lots of rhythm instruments with the littler kiddos. 😻
I have been able to hike up to Wallace Falls, Heybrook Lookout, and Mailbox Peak this month, in between all the driving back and forth to Seattle. The PNW is in fact very beautiful (we knew that, but more evidence is great)!
Peter has had a very full load of college classes for eight quarters in a row now (including summers) and he's READY for a break!! This summer he only has a JOB! 😁🤓
And so, we're about to get off the college treadmill (until Ezra starts end of September) and hopefully I'll be able to switch from driving miles back to flights!! If I can trade some shifts, I'll be heading to Norway in July!!!! #soblessed #travelobsessed
