Our Tent Saga

We really want to go camping. We bought a big tent. We set it up in the backyard to test the possibility.

We slept outside Thursday night (sans Peter) and it was OK. We slept outside Friday night (with Peter) and got anywhere from 4-6 hours of sleep. Peter thought it was more fun to jump on the airbed, crawl around and fall from our bed to his, fall on mommy and daddy, etc. He finally succumbed to sleep after much rocking and lullaby singing around 10pm. He's never been up that late!!

He slept on his own mattress until around 2am -- something startled him, he realized he wasn't safely tucked into his crib, and he cried. Mommy (half asleep) lovingly pulled him up into bed with her and they "slept" until just after 4am when Peter decided it must be morning (after all, the birds are singing and the sun is shining!!). So we abandoned the sleep-inhibiting tent and went for a lovely early-morning walk.

As I write this (9am) both daddy and baby are sleeping. Will we try this again?? Will we ever be able to spend a night in the great outdoors??
