Hairdryer thingy

Will someone please tell me what in the world this {huge} thing is? 

{without using the words diffuser, ionic, or blast}

Now tell me what I can re-use it for, since I'm sure it's intended use will be unnecessary.

OK -- just kidding. I couldn't wait, so I looked it up. So now I know. It does has a purpose. IF you have curly hair.
So, my straight-haired sisters, we have some re-purposing to do. hmmmmm
What would you do with it?
