mountains of snow

I feel like I captured the action and the fun of our snow adventure, even while ducking snowballs and waiting for my lens to defog. 

I used my kit lens (18-55mm), not as good for low light, but better for capturing the big picture. 

It's especially nice when I'm on my snowshoes and would rather change the focal length than walk backwards. ;) 

I am still challenged by the f-stop...getting the number low enough to get the light I need for action shots in dark situations while still keeping a large plane of focus. In these shots, I was dealing with heavy cloud and light snow so my shots were usually about like this:
