A NEW PILOT AND DRIVER | June 2025

Turning SIXTEEN was a big deal for Ezra this month -- he flew the Luscombe SOLO on his birthday with family and friends there to cheer him on!! Then just a couple days later, he picked up his driver's license from the DMV and started zooming around town by himself!! Things changed pretty quickly! He literally sprouted wings!!

He's been playing SO MUCH disc golf lately, which is great exercise!! I'm very happy he found an active hobby and it's been a good way for him to socialize too. Good stuff.

June was an important month for Peter too -- graduating from running start with his HS diploma AND Associate Transfer degree!! He'll be heading to Walla Walla in the fall to start the engineering program with junior status! We're so proud of his hard work. He also started a summer job where he's making more per hour than his mommy. LOL What a cool kid!

We had a very sweet time in Idaho, celebrating the beautiful life of Tim's dad, Ken. Peter put together a beautiful version of "It Is Well" and it was really nice to see family members and friends.

As Peter finished up his classes in Kirkland, I was able to hike to a couple more high places, enjoying the views and the exercise. Poo Poo Point has a funny name, but a terrific view of Mt. Rainier and if you're lucky, you can watch hang-gliders run off the edge! I feel like I should return to Lake Serene in the future, because the spectacular mountains (I know there were there) were hiding in the clouds.

Friends and I managed to survive an overnight paddle adventure on the Columbia River, even though the wind picked up A LOT in the evening. We were quite lucky to find a sandy place to sleep and so glad that the water was glassy and calm the next morning for our paddle out!

I was also able to sneak in a trip to LAKE TAHOE (oh what a glorious place) for some hiking and paddleboarding adventures. I'm thankful for cheaper hostel accommodations that allow me to visit so many destinations!!
